Dayton, OH (October 2012) — Yaskawa Motoman, a leading industrial robot manufacturer, and Robofusion®, Inc., the leader in interactive robotic kiosks, have entered into a partnership to market Reis and Irvy’s™ Frozen Yogurt Factory kiosks. Reis and Irvy’s is the world’s first and only Robotic Frozen Yogurt Kiosk line.

At Pack Expo 2012, users will be able to interact with Reis and Irvy’s Frozen Yogurt Factory by selecting up to two flavors of yogurt and two toppings (from a choice of 4 yogurt flavors and 10 toppings), choosing a robotic character, and then an SDA5 robot, a.k.a. “Cid”, will artfully deliver the order in a souvenir cup.
Motoman® SDA-series robots provide the reach, payload, speed, performance and flexibility required to perform a myriad of assembly, handling, machine tending packaging and part transfer applications that formerly could only be done by people. SDA robots feature 15 axes of motion (7 axes per arm, plus a single axis for base rotation), and are available with 5-, 10- and 20-kg payloads.

Sodexo, the museum’s dining solutions provider, has partnered with Robofusion to open the kiosk in multiple locations in the U.S. – The Children’s Museum is the first location to test the robot-made sweet treat.

Museum visitors are invited to step up to the Robofusion kiosk and design a 4-layer frozen yogurt treat, choose a robot personality, and watch as the robot builds it to their exact specifications.
